Offshore Wind: A Guide For Businesses
Offshore Wind: A Guide For Businesses
Supply chain conference
Thursday, February 16th, 2012, 8.30am-2.30pm
Country Park Inn, Hessle, East Yorkshire
As more major offshore wind turbine companies establish in the UK, now is the time for businesses to consider how to enter the industry’s supply chain. With Siemens submitting their planning application to build wind turbines on Hull’s Alexandra Dock it is clear the Humber will be at the centre of this high growth industry.
The Renewables Network, in conjunction with Footprint Renewables, is staging a special conference to help provide information on what the developers, turbine manufacturers and wind farm operators look for from potential suppliers.
The event, called Offshore Wind: A Guide For Businesses, will also give an update on the latest news from the sector, such as fresh details on the work to bring global players to the Humber area.
Being held at the Country Park Inn, Hessle, East Yorkshire, from 8.30am on Thursday, February 16th, 2012, the conference will feature several speakers, including representatives from some of these offshore wind organisations and the authorities already working with them in the region.
Delegates will find out:
- What type of suppliers the offshore wind industry will need directly and indirectly
- The vision for ‘Green Port Hull’ and its impact on the Humber region
- Which accreditations are required before tendering for work
- The level of guarantees the sector demands in terms of quality, safety and delivery
- How important presentation, image and marketing is when entering this emerging industry
- Timescales involved with the giant Round Two and Three wind farm sites in the North Sea
- Where to search for tenders and how to keep on top of the available work
At the conference, experts from the Renewables Network, a Humber-based business organisation that helps companies enter the green energy market, will outline the scale of the offshore wind opportunity and how to ensure your firm is ready for it.
Speakers include:
- Alan Johnson, MP, Hull West & Hessle
- Mark Jones - Head of Economic Regeneration, Hull City Council
- Sam Pick - Renewables Network
- Eric Collis - HETA
- Rob Bell - Archomai Energy
- Professor Chee Wong - Logistics & Supply Chain Management, University of Hull
- John Britton - BCG Bridgepoint
- Jonathan Rollinson - Point Engineering and Team Humber Marine Alliance
- Bruce Marbrow - Alpha Energy
The conference will also provide a useful chance to network with other people and businesses involved in an industry that is now ready to find long-term partners in the UK.
Whether your business is just starting up, is diversifying into the offshore wind market or is already established and would like to benefit from the latest industry information, this conference will provide an essential guide.
